pointless_again : YB, ever since I highly commend your ideas in this chatbox.. so I would like to give a scenario based on the false allegation that Comm. Yusoph received election money and I would appreciate much if you can make your own interpretation of the scenario.. I will try to sum it up on the next frame..
pointless_again : IF my son was kidnapped and my son and those who abducted my son is in Lanao Del Sur or in Mindanao.. As a father.. the first thing I would do is be at the scene of the crime..and know first hand every development that is happening.. but as a COMMISSIONER? SHOULD I STAY AWAY FROM MINDANAO? WHY AM I AVOIDING THIS PARAMETERS? AM I GUILTY? AM I HIDING SOMETHING?
Brandon : Pointless_again: Sounds interesting. It can be interpreted from different angles. What seems to be dominant is MONEY....money... money.
Brandon : nkkhalid writes: ... "the government has always been sincere in its search for peace in Mindanao." Do you [to all] agree with this statement? in what context that they are sincere? Re-evaluate the issue.
nlkhalid : The ARMM is one proof and the other is the peace with the MNLF. As I have said...the MILF should wake from its dreams and start asking for realistic demands. I see in the future a Federal Parliamentary System of government for our country so I say to the MILF...negotiates now while you are still relevant.
JuzThinkin : I agree with nlkhalid. No government or a president worth his salt will not want to see a peaceful, prosperous country he leads. The problem is that we always claim that the government is not sincere when it is not giving in to our (or MNLF/MILF) demands. Both parties to the negotiation are sincere. But their demands (or what each party wants from the other side to give into) are irreconcilable. This usually happens to long-drawn conflicts (the conflict in Mindanao is centuries-old) where the ci
JuzThinkin : circumstances and conditions that first gave rise to the conflict greatly change through time. When they become irreconcilable, the conflict becomes intractable and finding a solution therefore becomes almost impossible and so the conflict drags on.
Stranger : I agree with nlk. MILF should ask or demand what the GRP can give without constitutional processes and limitations. Why ask for BJE instead of the ARMM which is already legal and constitutional?. What is in the name anyway? Ask for reasonable expanded ARMM without North Cotabato, Zamboanga and Iligan and get away with Pinol, Lubrigat and Cruz. I know few of the MILF advisers and technical panel members are visiting this site a few times. Hope they read some ideas here.
Yellowbird : pointless_again, Comm. is a friend of mine but was really disgusted when , thru his recoomendations, there were controversial decisions made, Example, when the Board of Canvassers proclaimed Cong Balindong without results on his proclaimation(very unusual). By allowing manually transmitted results to the PBOC when its should be elctronic, etc. Also, when he allowed the Masiu clustering and returning the MSU clustering to its old clusters!
Yellowbird : Any of this may a reason for the kidnapping of his son or maybe there are those who just used the election issue when actually it was a simple kidnapping case to make money! Anyway, P-a, it should be a wake up call for him. When he just stayed in Manila during the duration of the kidnapping of his son, people indeed wondered, why oh why?
Yellowbird : I agree, it is time for the MILF to bend a little on their demands within the bounds of the constitution. Revolutionaries come and go, and becoming old! Look at Nur, the old warrior, if only he agreed when he was offered by Cory, in a silver platter, during that revolutionary government, some major concessions, peace and prosperity may have been reigning in our Bangsamoro homeland!
pointless_again : YB.. its a BIG WHY oh WHY for the Senior Yusoph to stay in Manila during that crucial stage of his Son.. He made a strong statement addressed to his Son's abductors but made a very doubtful action .
nlkhalid : P-Noy’s ELECTION could be the LAST FOR A PRESIDENT in our present system of government. He could in fact be re-elected by congress as ceremonial president for 4 or 6 years whatever the case. There is a big difference between people’s clamour to stay in power and people’s resentment. If the MILF are run by men of reason...they should make deals now.
nlkhalid : If a federal form of government is chosen to change our charter...federal independence will be shoved into our throats. My apprehension if the MILF don’t take the opportunity to make peace now while it can is that...the framing of our Federal constitution will fall in the hands of the same corrupt politicians that has for most part of our political history responsible for our failings and by then...MILF’s demands for independence will be rendered irrelevant.
Morojasan : TALAGA, HAHAHAHA
