Israel's feeling of isolation is becoming more pronounced
Israel is no stranger to feelings of isolation. It weathered years of Cold War-era Arab and Soviet hostility. Books have been written about the United Nations' perceived antagonism toward the Jewish state. A well-known decades-old song, "The Whole World Is Against Us," is invoked today by Israelis who argue that no matter what the country does, it will be shunned.
The feeling has become more pronounced in recent weeks. With the peace process stalled, the international community turning a skeptical eye toward Israeli shows of force and pro-Palestinian groups eager to jump on the nation's missteps, the stage was set for a furious reaction when commandos killed nine activists aboard a Turkish aid ship heading for Gaza on May 31. Since then, Israelis have engaged in a heated national conversation about how and why the country has become so isolated.

Remorseless Times Square car bomber Faisal Shahzad warns: 'We will be attacking the U.S.'
A self-proclaimed "Muslim soldier" who bungled a plot to bomb Times Square promised Monday that others will succeed where he failed.
A remorseless Faisal Shahzad pleaded guilty to the frightening scheme to blow up the Crossroads of the World on a busy Saturday night, when it was packed with New Yorkers and tourists.
"It's a war," Shahzad, 30, said in a hateful screed to Manhattan Federal Judge Miriam Cedarbaum.

This so reeks of "setup", particularly in light of the fact that the bomb was so badly fabricated that it couldn't have possibly detonated. For one thing, he bought the wrong type of fertilizer, leading to his nickname the "Bandini bomber".
One has to wonder if the timing of this hearing was engineered to scare Americans right in advance of some other huge "false flag" event, perhaps on or around some very significantly American holiday, like the 4th of July. Like his predecessors the shoe bomber and the crotch bomber, the Bandini bomber is a staged propaganda piece, to make sure the public blames the correct designated target when the big bang to launch the invasion of Iran happens! The PR runup we are seeing today mirrors almost exactly the one seen in August of 2001.

State Department warns Americans: Israel might kill you
Following weeks of conspicuous silence, the Obama administration is taking decisive action in response to the Israeli Defense Forces’ killing of Furkan Dorgan, an unarmed U.S. citizen aboard one of the ships in the “Free Gaza” flotilla who was shot four times in the head by IDF commandos: it’s telling Americans to stay the hell out of harm’s way – that is, out of the range of the Israel’s U.S. taxpayer-subsidized weaponry.

A real President, who understands that his job is to take care of America and Americans first and foremost, would park a couple aircraft carriers off of Israel's coast and lay down the law. "Touch my people and lose a city."
An American government that will not stand up for America and Americans first and foremost, is useless. An American government that will not protect Americans in international waters is a government that has already surrendered to the enemy that attacked us.
No real patriot can support a government that will not support the American people.

What Lies Ahead: A New Massacre or a Genocidal War?
Will the Lebanese ship attempting to break the siege imposed on Gaza be the spark that ignites the fire of war in the Middle East? Whether the vessels attempting to break the siege of Gaza or any other insignificant as preposterous and contrived reasons will be the last straw that Israel holds as a justification for a bloody war against what it calls the “new alliance” (Syria, Turkey and Iran), this new Israeli war and the flood of human blood is inevitably coming. At the national, political and military levels, Israel has made sufficient effort to convince its American, European and some Arab and Islamic allies to take part in or support this dirty war. It has also completed its training and tactical planning for this new coming war.
The warnings and threats which Israel has repeated during the last days through it’s ambassador at the United Nations in New York and their War Minister Ehud Barak, who says that they will use all ways and every means to prevent any solidarity ship from reaching the beach of Gaza, the evil propaganda and preposterous allegations of Israeli officials, who claim that the Lebanese aid ship belongs to the uncle of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad and that the women on board are supposedly from Hezbollah, all confirm that Israel has prepared itself for a new genocidal war in the Middle East.

Gen. McChrystal has discovered what so many others before him learned – from Socrates to Thomas More to Gen. Smedley Butler to Sophie Scholl to Daniel Ellsberg to Seymour Hersh to untold governmental "whistleblowers" – even, more recently to Helen Thomas – that it is dangerous to speak truth not to power, but to ordinary people. The owners of the political establishment know the truth; they are fully aware of the lies they have fabricated; the deceptions they – along with their obliging media and academic supporters – have carefully manipulated into a perception of "truth." The owners don’t want you to know what they know. Those who would dare to so inform you get labeled as "paranoid conspiracy theorists," "disgruntled former employees," "racists," or "anti-Semitic." There is one voice the establishment owners have been reluctant to silence, even years after his death. Former President Eisenhower – who personified the "hero" of World War II to such a degree that both the Republican and Democratic parties wanted to nominate him – declared, in his farewell address that "we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex." Perhaps it was his hands-on familiarity with war – unlike so many war-loving lounge-generals who never heard a shot fired in anger – that left within him such a distaste for the system. But you and I are not to think such thoughts, nor to listen to those who do. We are to believe the great lie that our family members and friends died to protect us, rather than to profit the corporate-state interests who create and manage the institutionalized carnage.
As the political establishment continues to collapse, its war against the transformative nature of information becomes intensified. Efforts are currently being made by some politicians and governmental agencies to control the Internet; to give to the president a "kill switch" that would allow him to shut down, on his dictatorial whim, this decentralized and unrestrained engine of communication whenever he considers it necessary for the interests of national security. That Sen. Lieberman – the sponsor of such a bill – justifies the measure on the grounds that the Chinese government has such power, is indicative of just how strongly the established order feels threatened by free minds!

Worse Than a Nightmare

June 27, 2010 "New York Times" -- President Obama can be applauded for his decisiveness in dispatching the chronically insubordinate Stanley McChrystal, but we are still left with a disaster of a war in Afghanistan that cannot be won and that the country as a whole will not support.

We’re like a compulsive gambler plunging ever more deeply into debt in order to wager on a rigged game. There is no victory to be had in Afghanistan, only grief. We’re bulldozing Detroit while at the same time trying to establish model metropolises in Kabul and Kandahar. We’re spending endless billions on this wretched war but can’t extend the unemployment benefits of Americans suffering from the wretched economy here at home.
The difference between this and a nightmare is that when you wake up from a nightmare it’s over. This is all too tragically real.

Dangerous Crossroads in World History: Obama’s New Iran Sanctions: An Act of War

When the UN refused to agree to the severe sanctions that the U.S. wanted, Obama responded with typical Bush flair and went solo. The new U.S. sanctions against Iran — signed into law by Obama on July 1st — are an unmistakable act of war.
If fully enforced, Iran’s economy will be potentially destroyed. The New York Times outlines the central parts of the sanctions:
“The law signed by Mr. Obama imposes penalties on foreign entities that sell refined petroleum to Iran or assist Iran with its domestic refining capacity. It also requires that American and foreign businesses that seek contracts with the United States government certify that they do not engage in prohibited business with Iran.” (July 1, 2010).
Iran must import the majority of its oil from foreign corporations and nations, since it does not have the technology needed to refine the fuel that it pumps from its soil. By cutting this refined oil off, the U.S. will be causing massive, irreparable damage to the Iranian economy — equaling an act of war.
In fact, war against Japan in WWII was sparked by very similar circumstances. Franklin Delano Roosevelt spearheaded a series of sanctions against Japan, which included the Export Control Act, giving the President the power to prohibit the export of a variety of materials to Japan, including oil. This gave Roosevelt the legal stance he needed to implement an oil embargo, an obvious act of war. Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor simply brought the war out of the economic realm into the military sphere.
Iran is facing the exact same situation. Whereas the Obama Administration calmly portrays economic sanctions as “peaceful” solutions to political problems, they are anything but. The strategy here is to economically attack Iran until it responds militarily, giving the U.S. a fake moral high ground to “defend” itself, since the other side supposedly attacked first.
But the U.S. is provoking militarily too. According to the New York Times: “The Obama administration is accelerating the deployment of new defenses against possible Iranian missile attacks in the Persian Gulf, placing special ships [war ships] off the Iranian coast and antimissile systems in at least four [surrounding] Arab countries, according to administration and military officials.” (January 30, 2010).
The same article mentions that U.S. General Petraeus admitted that, “… the United States was now keeping Aegis cruisers on patrol in the Persian Gulf [Iran’s border] at all times. Those cruisers are equipped with advanced radar and antimissile systems designed to intercept medium-range missiles.” Iran, as well as the whole world, knows full well that “antimissile systems” are perfectly capable of going on the offensive — their real purpose.
Iran is completely surrounded by countries occupied by the U.S. military, whether it be the mass occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan, or the U.S. puppet states that house U.S. military bases in Arab nations (not to mention Zionist Israel, a U.S. cohort in its war aims against Iran). Contrary to the statements of President Obama, Iran is already well contained militarily.
It remains to be seen how closely U.S. allies will follow the new oil sanctions; they will be under tremendous pressure to do so. The European Union has already signaled that it will follow Obama’s lead.
Ultimately, the march to war begun by Bush is picking up momentum under Obama. Congressional Democrats and Republicans gave the President their overwhelming support in passing these sanctions, proving that the two party system agrees to the necessity of more war.
Uniting the U.S. anti-war movement is crucial if current and future wars are to be stopped. A step in this direction will take place at the National Peace Conference, in Albany, New York, July 23-25.

Geert Wilders to spread his anti-Muslim movement west
Dutch far-right politician forms international alliance to attempt to ban immigration from Islamic countries
An anti-Muslim populist in the Netherlands is forming an international alliance to spread his message across the west in an attempt to ban immigration from Islamic countries, among other goals.
Geert Wilders, leader of the Freedom party, told the Associated Press that he would launch the movement late this year, initially in five countries: the US, Canada, Britain, France and Germany.
"The message, 'stop Islam, defend freedom', is a message that's not only important for the Netherlands but for the whole free Western world," Wilders said at the Dutch parliament.
Among the group's aims will be outlawing immigration from Islamic countries to the west and a ban on Islamic sharia law. Starting as a grassroots movement, he hopes it eventually will produce its own lawmakers or influence other legislators.
Ayhan Tonca, a prominent spokesman for Dutch Muslims, said he feared Wilders message would fall on fertile ground in much of Europe, where anti-Islam sentiment has been swelling for years.
"So long as things are going badly with the economy, a lot of people always need a scapegoat," Tonca said. "At the moment, that is the Muslims in western Europe."
Tonca called on "well-meaning people in Europe to oppose this."
Known for his bleached-blond mop of hair, Wilders is a shrewd politician who has won awards in the Netherlands for his debating skills and regularly stands up for gay and women's rights.
But he rose to local and then international prominence with his firebrand anti-Islam rhetoric that has led to him being charged under Dutch anti-hate speech laws and banned from visiting Britain until a court there ordered that he be allowed into the country.
Wilders said he hopes to position the alliance between traditional conservative parties and far-right wing groups, saying that in Britain there is "an enormous gap" between the ruling Conservative party and the far-right BNP: "The BNP is a party that, whatever you think of it, it's not my party I think it's a racist party," he said.
Wilders, who calls Islam a "fascist" religion, has won increasing support the Netherlands in recent years even while he has been subjected to round-the-clock protection because of death threats.
His Freedom party won the biggest gains in a national election last month, coming third with 24 seats in the 150-seat parliament, up from the nine before the election.
However, mainstream parties will not form a coalition with Wilders, leaving him on the margins of Dutch politics for the next parliamentary term.
Wilders is due to stand trial in October on hate speech charges stemming from his short internet film Fitna, which denounced the Qur'an as a a fascist book that inspires terrorism. The film aroused anti-Dutch protests around the Muslim world, and he was banned for several months from entering Britain.
But he is unrepentant and said he now wants to take his message outside the Netherlands.
"The fight for freedom and (against) Islamisation as I see it is a worldwide phenomenon and problem to be solved," he said.
Wilders declined to name any of the other founders of the organisation he is calling the Geert Wilders International Freedom Alliance. He has been criticised for running his party as a one-man show.

Afghanistan war logs: Massive leak of secret files exposes truth of occupation
• Hundreds of civilians killed by coalition troops
• Covert unit hunts leaders for 'kill or capture'
• Steep rise in Taliban bomb attacks on Nato
A huge cache of secret US military files today provides a devastating portrait of the failing war in Afghanistan, revealing how coalition forces have killed hundreds of civilians in unreported incidents, Taliban attacks have soared and Nato commanders fear neighbouring Pakistan and Iran are fuelling the insurgency.
The disclosures come from more than 90,000 records of incidents and intelligence reports about the conflict obtained by the whistleblowers' website Wikileaks in one of the biggest leaks in US military history. The files, which were made available to the Guardian, the New York Times and the German weekly Der Spiegel, give a blow-by-blow account of the fighting over the last six years, which has so far cost the lives of more than 320 British and more than 1,000 US troops.
Their publication comes amid mounting concern that Barack Obama's "surge" strategy is failing and as coalition troops hunt for two US naval personnel captured by the Taliban south of Kabul on Friday.
The war logs also detail:
• How a secret "black" unit of special forces hunts down Taliban leaders for "kill or capture" without trial.
• How the US covered up evidence that the Taliban have acquired deadly surface-to-air missiles.
• How the coalition is increasingly using deadly Reaper drones to hunt and kill Taliban targets by remote control from a base in Nevada.
• How the Taliban have caused growing carnage with a massive escalation of their roadside bombing campaign, which has killed more than 2,000 civilians to date.
In a statement, the White House said the chaotic picture painted by the logs was the result of "under-resourcing" under Obama's predecessor, saying: "It is important to note that the time period reflected in the documents is January 2004 to December 2009."
The White House also criticised the publication of the files by Wikileaks: "We strongly condemn the disclosure of classified information by individuals and organisations, which puts the lives of the US and partner service members at risk and threatens our national security. Wikileaks made no effort to contact the US government about these documents, which may contain information that endanger the lives of Americans, our partners, and local populations who co-operate with us."
The logs detail, in sometimes harrowing vignettes, the toll on civilians exacted by coalition forces: events termed "blue on white" in military jargon. The logs reveal 144 such incidents.
Some of these casualties come from the controversial air strikes that have led to Afghan government protests, but a large number of previously unknown incidents also appear to be the result of troops shooting unarmed drivers or motorcyclists out of a determination to protect themselves from suicide bombers.
At least 195 civilians are admitted to have been killed and 174 wounded in total, but this is likely to be an underestimate as many disputed incidents are omitted from the daily snapshots reported by troops on the ground and then collated, sometimes erratically, by military intelligence analysts.
Bloody errors at civilians' expense, as recorded in the logs, include the day French troops strafed a bus full of children in 2008, wounding eight. A US patrol similarly machine-gunned a bus, wounding or killing 15 of its passengers, and in 2007 Polish troops mortared a village, killing a wedding party including a pregnant woman, in an apparent revenge attack.
Questionable shootings of civilians by UK troops also figure. The US compilers detail an unusual cluster of four British shootings in Kabul in the space of barely a month, in October/November 2007, culminating in the death of the son of an Afghan general. Of one shooting, they wrote: "Investigation controlled by the British. We are not able to get [sic] complete story."
A second cluster of similar shootings, all involving Royal Marine commandos in Helmand province, took place in a six-month period at the end of 2008, according to the log entries. Asked by the Guardian about these allegations, the Ministry of Defence said: "We have been unable to corroborate these claims in the short time available and it would be inappropriate to speculate on specific cases without further verification of the alleged actions."
Rachel Reid, who investigates civilian casualty incidents in Afghanistan for Human Rights Watch, said: "These files bring to light what's been a consistent trend by US and Nato forces: the concealment of civilian casualties. Despite numerous tactical directives ordering transparent investigations when civilians are killed, there have been incidents I've investigated in recent months where this is still not happening.
Accountability is not just something you do when you are caught. It should be part of the way the US and Nato do business in Afghanistan every time they kill or harm civilians." The reports, many of which the Guardian is publishing in full online, present an unvarnished and often compelling account of the reality of modern war.
Most of the material, though classified "secret" at the time, is no longer militarily sensitive. A small amount of information has been withheld from publication because it might endanger local informants or give away genuine military secrets. Wikileaks, whose founder, Julian Assange, obtained the material in circumstances he will not discuss, said it would redact harmful material before posting the bulk of the data on its "uncensorable" servers.
Wikileaks published in April this year a previously suppressed classified video of US Apache helicopters killing two Reuters cameramen on the streets of Baghdad, which gained international attention. A 22-year-old intelligence analyst, Bradley Manning, was arrested in Iraq and charged with leaking the video, but not with leaking the latest material. The Pentagon's criminal investigations department continues to try to trace the leaks and recently unsuccessfully asked Assange, he says, to meet them outside the US to help them. Assange allowed the Guardian to examine the logs at our request. No fee was involved and Wikileaks was not involved in the preparation of the Guardian's articles.

Schoolbook hunky-dory with Islam, but skunks Jesus?
Parent: 'Class presents version of history that never occurred'

Parents of Florida high-school students are outraged because they say a world-history textbook used in many of the state's schools portrays Islam and Muhammad in a favorable light.
Members of the public raised concerns with Florida's Sarasota County School Board about "World History: Patterns of Interaction," published by Holt McDougal.
The book was approved by the Florida Department of Education for use in public schools and adopted by the school board for use from 2006 through the 2011-2012 school year.
The school board voted to retain the textbook for use in Sarasota County's 10th–grade social-studies curriculum through 2012, rejecting complaints that the book should not be taught in public classrooms.
However, the complainants have been granted an appeal before the school board regarding the textbook decision to be held on July 20 at 3 p.m. Each side will be given 10 minutes to present their case and five minutes for a rebuttal.
The Sarasota chapter of ACT! for America, a citizen-action network, claims the textbook "has an anti-Western, anticapitalist, anti-Christian, anti-Jewish bias."

"Conversely it promotes Eastern and Middle Eastern cultures, promotes Islam as a religion, promotes socialism and fails to address world history in a historically accurate manner," the group said in a statement.
Sarasota County ACT! for America chapter leader Richard Swier, editor of RedCounty.com, attended a school-board meeting on April 20 to share his concerns about the textbook.
"I spoke at the school-board meeting requesting 'World History' be removed from the district's approved list because it was historically untrue, academically dishonest and does not give equal treatment to all religions," wrote Swier. "Dozens of examples of historical untruths, biases and distortions were pointed out, including: no mention of jihad as a warlike means to expand Islam; Islamic conquest as good, Christian conquest as bad; and non-Western civilizations as benign, Western civilizations as evil."
After reading the book, Ferguson concluded that it "placed Islam in a textually superior position as fact with other religions portrayed as belief systems." Swier has said that the textbook's coverage of Sept. 11 is biased and that the book doesn't even mention Muslims or jihad when discussing the attacks.

If there should be no Mosque (really from everything I've read the Muslim equivalent of a YMCA/YWCA with a chapel inside, hardly a mosque or madrasa) than there should also be no white people allowed in the area or white owned businesses or churches or synagogs.
Why you might ask would I say something so stupid?
Who told the first responders the air was safe to breathe? Christy Whitman a white woman and Rudy G. a white man. They both knew the truth but mislead the true heros, the first responders. Meanwhile a few blocks away on this "hallowed ground" Bernie Kerik (another white guy), highest police official appointed by Rudy G. was in a hotel room that was supposed to be reserved for the first responders to rest in. What was Bernie (now a convicted felon serving time in a jail that was actually origionally named after him, you can't make this stuff up)doing in the hotel reserved for the first responders? He was making the bedsprings squeak with Judith Regan (a white woman) who was in the process of publishing that wonderful work of art "If I Did It" as a ghost writer for OJ Simpson (the only non white guy mentioned so far if anyone is keeping score). Bernie's wife was home and didn't find this out until shortly before ole' Bernie's divorce and arrest. Rudy's wife was home too while Rudy was making other bed springs squeak with someone else, probably also with the NYC taxpayers paying for the motel room. Were the mirrored ceilings extra? Would you really want to pay for mirrored ceilings to see Rudy's naked fat ass on the ceiling?
I might have to stop this post soon to run to the bathroom, hope no one is eating dinner if they decide to read my drivel. I don't judge people's morality unless they come off as family value, christian conservatives, Rudy, Bernie like Bobby Dole or the Newtster Ginkoridge(who has been very vocal on the Mosque)who have a way of serving divorce papers to their wives when the wives are in hospital beds after chemo. Brave white men! Going on 10 years later who has continously voted against paying the medical bills of the first responders that ole' Rudy and Christie lied to? Al Queda? The taliban? hitler??? Nope, a bunch of mostly republican white folks.
There is one Muslim congressperson to my knowledge. We will pay taxes on our new wonderful health benifits in 2011. We are involved in illegal or unwinable wars. We are realitically at 19-23% unemployment. Our cities and infrastructure are crumbling, today the LIRR (Long Island Rail Road) was shut down due to a fire in a 97 year old switching station with (obviously) antiquated wiring. The NJ/NY train systems have been having delays and cancellations over the past month, again antiquated systems. Power outages worsen in the NY metro area every summer, due again to antiquated systems. Who allocates the monies, decides what to fund and not fund and decides to go to war? It ain't a bunch of followers of Islam. It's the elite white folks.
Or maybe I'm wrong, maybe the "mosque" is the new home of al queda, maybe that one Muslim congressman is making all these laws that are destroying us?? Maybe those Muslim pilots, suffering from hangovers from a night of partying, actually could do 180's in the NYC sky with 747's, making top gun look like a rookie(by the way top gun was a white guy republican congressman presently serving time in prison for embezzling and extortion and illegal campaign contributions, Duke Cunningham) Maybe they could alter the laws of physics and make jet fuel that burns at about 1500F melt steel which melts at about 2700F and bring down not 2 but 3 skyscrapers (WTC7) without actually hitting the third one. Perhaps they could actually fly less than 50 feet in the air in Washington, DC and hit the pentagon? Maybe saddham hussain actually was responsible for 9/11 along with osama. Even though by most reports osama wanted to go to Iraq to kill him, because he was not a fundamentalist muslim. Maybe osama is still alive, living in a cave for 10+ years on dialysis in the most brutal enviornment on the planet while the largest most technologically advanced military in the world still can't find him? Meanwhile dick cheney keeps getting new tickers in the best hospitals in the world, too bad ole dick doesn't have obama's health care worse yet too bad American's don't have acces to dick's or osama's health care huh? Maybe Iran actually has a sophisticated nuclear program? Wow they must, just think, they can actually pronounce the word nookular unlike our last president. If they can say it they can probably make some bombs, right? If that's the case we better start making the white flags now because its way past over for us if any of this nonsense that the media tells us it true. A B52 (maybe a B29) hit the Empire State building (I think) in the 1940's it was a problem but the Empire State building is still there, ever wonder about that one? We don't have the proverbial snowballs chance in hell if any of this is actually true. A few drunken pilots can decimate the NYC skyline? OMG we're toast!!!!!!

Also by the way Rudy G. who touted that he reduced crime in NYC, too bad he didn't throw his daughter out of the city, she was arrested a few weeks ago for shoplifting. He might have had Bernie K. arrested before he named the jail after him that ole Bernie was mug shotted and fingerprinted in. I was picked up for drinking in the park when I was in high school once and I think if the police station they took me too was named after me my parents would not has kicked my ass (phsically and emotionally...deservidly) after they let me go. Like I said you can't make this stuff up.

I'm a Christian (Buddhist leanings), take a look at the history of Spain. 711 to 1492 invaded by (at the request of a Spanish nobelman to kill his brother to regain his power)the Moors. While Europe went through the dark ages. Spain was a cultural center. Catholic (there were no Christians than, they had to come into being because the pope was a jackass who occasionally murdered his opponents) and Jewish teachers taught at the cultural centers along with Islamic scholars. Unlike the taliban (who we helped create and fund, read Zbignew Bryzniski's bio's)women were respected and not enslaved. 1487 (approx) the catholic church started regaining power and expelled the Moors totallyin January 1492. The Jews were killed, converted or thrown out shortly after, so much for religous tolerance. Than what? That fun time the Spanish Inquisition.

A country that's fine with sending red, brown and black men into war but god forbid the suckers come back alive and want a "hand out". It's a hell of a lot easier for a "dirty mexican illegal" (isn't that the politically correct term? maybe I missed something) to sign up and go kill some other brown people in some place I have to lerarn to pronounce than for the same person to become a citizen. Hell it's easier to become a citizen posthumously.
